The great thing about Iowa is it’s known for its four different seasons. The summers are long, and you’ll find a lot of Iowans cooling off by either fishing or sipping a cold brew while floating down Lake MacBride. If you dream about chestnuts roasting on an open fire or jack frost nipping at your nose in the winter, Iowa will not disappoint. Sure, last January hit -30* once. That was crazy. We promise it doesn’t happen often.

The fall is ablaze with red, orange, and yellow leaves that you will never stop admiring as you walk to the nearby coffee house for your pumpkin spice-something. Or check out an Iowa Hawkeye Football game at Kinnick — just be sure to give the kids watching the game at the top level of the UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital a wave at the end of the first quarter. 👋 In the spring, go take a hike! Yes, there are hiking trails in Iowa. Each trail provides a little different scenery, and you’ll be rewarded with wildlife and plant life you won’t see anywhere else in the country.
