ICR IOWA is a 501c6 nonprofit organization launched in 2017 by the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance and the Iowa City Area Development Group. This joint venture was developed to lead business attraction and workforce development strategies in a seven-county region in Eastern Iowa.
ICR IOWA serves as a catalyst for high-quality job growth in our seven-county region by working with local and regional partners to attract new interstate businesses and develop a talented workforce.
ICR IOWA is home to a half million creative residents and covers 4400 square miles in eastern Iowa including the seven county region of Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn and Washington counties.
It is a shared identity that represents the people, places and ideals of the 7-county region which encompasses the entire Kirkwood Community College service area. It represents the pride and actions that make our region prosperous and vibrant. It pays homage to our region’s historical strengths in art, science and technology, and captures our aspirations for an even more collaborative, innovative and imaginative region. Everyone in the region is welcome and encouraged to use this shared identity proudly in community, corporate and non-profit communications. It’s a way to show what we all work together to strengthen and celebrate this place that we love.
Our Team

Jennifer Daly
President and CEO

309-339-1388
Jennifer landed in Iowa after a childhood spent in Hawaii, California, and Tennessee. After graduating from the University of Iowa, she spent a decade co-founding the Iowa Children’s Museum. Her passion for community and economic development took her to southeast Iowa and Peoria, Illinois before her love of the Cedar Rapids Iowa City area brought her back to lead Corridor Development.
Jennifer and her husband Tim spend their down time (if you can call it that?) with daughter Nora at soccer games and son Aidan at jazz band performances. They both love supporting Corridor communities and can be found often in one of the many locally-owned eateries in the Cedar Rapids Newbo district or downtown Iowa City enjoying live music and a micro-brew.

Tom Banta
Business Attraction Strategist

563-506-3280
Born and raised in the Mountain West in a state that boasts more antelope than people, Tom found his way to Iowa with the opportunity to play baseball. He graduated a Hawkeye with a degree in Economics before embarking on a diverse and winding path of business and relationship development opportunities.
Tom is a sharp dressed, smooth talking, Tough Mudder who between Crossfit workouts, Goruck challenges, and climbing the 14,000 ft peaks of Colorado spreads the gospel of the Cedar Rapids Iowa City Corridor in an effort to attract business to the region. From Automated Vehicles and Education Technology to Natural and Organic Foods, Tom takes his work seriously, but rarely himself. He found his way to Corridor Development via a unique career history with roles at Allsteel, Tippie College of Business, and community place-making with the Blue Zones Project. Along the way he has lived in Silicon Valley and Austin, TX, but proudly calls Iowa City his home.
Tom is married with two teenage step-sons, three dogs, and a handful of free range chickens that keep things interesting outside the office. He volunteers his time as a High School baseball coach, enjoys golf, cooking, and a good mountain bike ride. The simple things in life, like good beer, good food, and good conversations along with family and friends are what he finds the most rewarding.

Brian has a passion for helping people be successful, which is why companies, consultants, and partners enjoy working with him on their newest locations in the Corridor. His past work as an Economic Development Strategist at the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance and with the Iowa Economic Development Authority where he worked with renewable energy manufacturing firms and businesses with operational headquarters in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic United States, and Europe, provided a substantial foundation of experience for his current role. Brian was also the program manager for the $100M Iowa Power Fund, a state of Iowa initiative that invested funds in new commercialized technology including advanced biofuels, wind, solar, algae and community efficiency projects.
Brian is a graduate of the University of Illinois Chicago and lives in Marion with his wife Amanda, and daughters Ellie and Lillian. He can sometimes be seen playing the bass guitar in a band. Brian travels quite frequently for work and play, he is a passionate Chicago Cubs fan, and was a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in Romania.

Kate is not only a regional advocate for career development, but serves as one at home too. Her sons Jack and Charlie and daughter Meg keep her home life busy with baseball, basketball, theatre and show choir activities. In her bit of free time she enjoys doing hot yoga, hiking with her husband Joe and their golden retriever Riley, and drinking good wine with great friends.
