Full Job Description

The Records Information Management (“RIM”) Manager is responsible for researching, and establishing the systems and methodologies that accurately, securely, and effectively manage information received and produced, company-wide, in compliance with internal policies and local laws. RIM Manager will implement and oversee the policies, procedures and practices for company records from creation and preservation through to disposal. In alignment with goals identified from the Collins Aerospace General Counsel and Raytheon Technologies, the RIM Manager will lead, guide, advise, and support the expansion of a common methodology for records Information management applicable to the Collins Aerospace businesses.


This position can be worked remotely, from anywhere in the domestic U.S.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate as the Collins Aerospace team member on policy committee(s) established to define records retentions based on legal and business requirements, including any subsequent policy reviews and updates to policies and tools
  • Analyze Collins Aerospace records retention needs and, if needed, create standard work and procedures specific to Collins Aerospace
  • Lead the practice of compliant and consistent records management throughout Collins Aerospace
  • Manage and direct retention program efforts including disposal of sensitive materials
  • Institute processes which ensure records are easily accessible when needed
  • Manage and coordinate records destruction at applicable retention life-cycle end
  • Establish a program to evaluate and validate the effectiveness of existing records systems
  • Provide budgetary/financial tracking and analysis of the RIM program
  • Coordinate integration/expansion of program within Collins Aerospace
  • Internal and external audit support
  • Supervisory, training and project management responsibilities, including directing, assisting and supporting records specialists/administrators and company-wide users
  • Provide guidelines and training to internal users to identify, classify, and index records
  • Provide guidance and training regarding information management practices
  • Managing inquiries and requests for information from both internal and external clients


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10%


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in administering and directing Records Information Management policies, procedures and practices
  • Proven ability on prioritizing tasks while maintaining focus on compliance and budgeting goals
  • Knowledge of industry practices and standards, as well as excellent communication, influencing and training skills
  • Analytical, meticulous with attention to detail, organized, capable of prioritizing, and a dedicated problem-solver
  • Comfortable with leading change, and leading a distributed team of personnel and users worldwide
