What is Wingman?

Wingman is a program designed to help Iowa City-Cedar Rapids (ICR) newcomers navigate their new home. Through the program, newcomers are connected to a Wingman, a community champion with a robust network and knowledge of Iowa City – Cedar Rapids (ICR). Our Pre-Flight Checklist is used to match newcomers with the ideal Wingman, a first friend who can answer questions, make connections, and help our newest neighbors take flight in ICR IOWA!

Get a Wingman

Moving to a new city is hard, but we want to make it a little easier. Sign up for a Wingman to get a friendly community co-pilot, eager to help you navigate your new home. Once you take our interest inventory, we will match you up with a Wingman who shares your interests and is an ideal first friend identified just for you! Your Wingman will send you a note so you can find the perfect time to connect.

Hosting a candidate for an interview? Welcoming a new employee from outside our region? Consider using the Wingman program. A Wingman can host a community or region-wide tour, answer questions a candidate might have about relocating to our region, and become a newcomer’s first friend.
