Role Overview
This position is for the Lead Systems Engineer within the Model Based Systems Engineering team in the Rotary Wing Platform Systems organization. The MBSE team is a research and development group responsible for supporting the maturation of key emerging
methods and differentiators required to position Collins Aerospace for both current and future growth opportunities; supporting our military and their partners. This includes, but is not limited to, model-based engineering processes, tools, techniques, formal methods analysis, cyber security and Open Systems development.
This position is to serve as the technical leader for the Advanced Teaming (A-Team) MSITD project. The objective of the A-Team program is to develop and demonstrate advanced teaming of manned and unmanned aviation assets to execute tactical missions with minimal human intervention, while operating as part of a combined arms team in a complex operating environment. The program will demonstrate the technologies developed and matured in a Mission Systems Integrated Technology Demonstration (MSITD) at the end of the program. The systems lead will have full accountability for technical scope and direction of the program and along with the TPM serve as the primary technical focal for the customer, industry collaborators and internal stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:

Own the systems engineering process and planning documents (open systems management plan, systems engineering management plan and integration and test plan) and project technical execution

Own the technical scope of the project and ensure project execution meets internal and external stakeholder needs

Work with industry collaborators to extend the Army’s architecture strategies to include MUM-T operations
-
Lead the development of Collins’ autonomy integration framework and subsequent objective architecture
Required Qualifications:

Experience with military avionics systems
-
Experience with software system design
-
Experience with new or novel execution and implementation techniques and processes
-
Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, excellent interpersonal skills and proactive problem-solving abilities.

Must be a self-starter, be able to multi-task, and take advantage of opportunities and events to achieve results

Maintain and active interest in study, learning, and continuous self-development

Experience with design, requirements capture, development, and integration of complex military avionics software systems

Experience with DoD open systems architecture and protocols (FACE, JCA, HOST, etc)

Experience with cyber security

Experience with avionics development processes such as (ARP4754, ARP4761, DO-254, DO-178)

Experience with systems/software modeling languages (SysML, UML, AADL, or equivalent)

Experience with visual modeling and design tools (Enterprise Architect or equivalent)
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required.
