Foth Infrastructure & Environment, LLC
is currently seeking a team-focused, innovative, and results-oriented Business Development Professional, with proven success in cultivating relationships with current and prospective Utilities clients. At Foth, with our strong emphasis on our clients and teamwork, we refer to this individual as a Client Team Leader. This position will be working remotely from your home office in the Midwest, or out of any of our midwest office locations.
This individual should have a “hunter” approach and will be responsible for leveraging existing relationships and developing new business opportunities for environmental engineering, design, and design/build services resulting in long term, multi-level client relationships, primarily focused in the Energy Utility markets. As a Client Team Leader, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing specific clients and project opportunities. You will work with a team to identify and qualify opportunities, assemble the proposal team, develop winning proposals, and closing the sale.

Primary Responsibilities

    • Leverage existing relationships to develop new business opportunities aligned with Foth’s targeted market approach
    • Develop/implement competitive strategies for acquiring targeted clients and expand the relationship with existing clients at an executive level
    • Promote and grow environmental services sales pipeline and revenue
    • Lead development of proposals/presentations
    • Develop win/win pricing strategies for Foth and our clients
    • Deliver an annual profitable portfolio of $1M or more in professional fees
    • Provide turn-key or design-build value propositions to Foth clients
    • Develop strategies to address client risk, execution concerns, and stakeholder issues
    • Communicate to Foth’s project team and clients to facilitate effective delivery and positive client experience
    • Conduct regulatory negotiations and client advocacy with external stakeholders
    • Works with the other Client Team Leaders, Business Development Professionals, and project team leaders to establish client development best practices
    • Participate in strategic planning, development, deployment, and growth with Foth clients
    • Understand and respond to overall market trends, challenges, and client concerns
    • Creates and maintains a respectful, inclusive, and supportive team environment across functional and geographic boundaries

Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Business or similar discipline
    • 10+ years of experience in environmental engineering consulting services
    • A proven track record developing, retaining and maintaining clients
    • Demonstrated success in business development
    • Ability to travel domestically 25% or more

Preferred Qualifications

    • 15+ years of experience in engineering consulting services within the energy utility industry, either the public or private sector
    • Experience working in utility (energy production and transmission)
    • Previous experience developing design/build project opportunities
    • Understanding of Utilities market liabilities related to former manufactured gas plants (MGP), coal combustion residuals (CCR), and sediments, groundwater, and land remediation.
    • Existing loyal and value-seeking client base
    • This position is to be based ideally out of one of our many Midwest office locations – We are flexible on our office location, with work from home options, but have a focus on the Midwest market.
