Objective:

This Sales Trainee position offers a candidate the extraordinary opportunity to learn our outside sales process from the ground up! Through the on-the-job training, this person will learn our hands-on technical estimating process, service sales, proposal creation, closing commercial sales and will assist the mentor in all aspects of the sales cycle within various accounts and territories. Knowledge gained in the Sales Trainee position will help to easily transition into a sales position.

Once the training period has been successfully completed, you will transition into your own sales territory within the Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas!


Job Summary:

  • Traveling to customer’s locations and inspect commercial roofs
  • Measuring roofs, acquiring core samples and estimating the amount of roofing material and labor needed to re-roof
  • Working closely with the sales team to provide accurate information for the creation of proposals for customers
  • Generating, developing and managing relationships with clients
  • Prepare and deliver sales proposals/presentations
  • Hands-on learning and classroom training of commercial roofing systems to include: TPO, PVC, EPDM, BUR, Modified-Bitumen, Metal, Foam, Coatings


Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree is preferred
  • 1-3 years of prior outside sales experience, preferably in the construction industry
  • Strong communication/writing skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-pace environment
  • Must have a tenacious drive to sell and the ability to problem-solve
  • Must have a Valid, current driver’s license
