This is a position in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Work is 100% onsite, primarily working in one building but may need to work in other nearby buildings/labs. The work performed can be complex, strategic (aligned to business unit strategy) and often minimally defined and/or undefined. May be asked to support customers by working outside of “normal” business hours and/or travel but is not required.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Will have the ability to solder, build, test, and troubleshoot/debug electronics assemblies

  • Is recognized for their knowledge and expertise as an electronics technician.

  • Interfaces well with key customers on complex systems or processes; able to improve upon existing processes and practices.

  • Regularly solves complex problems and serves as a resource on varied tasks.

  • Regularly Demonstrates qualities of a successful Leader. Works under minimal supervision as needed.

  • Regularly receives exceptional Customer Support Metrics/Feedback.

  • Regularly leads by example utilizing “soft” people skills.


Basic Qualifications:

  • AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

  • OR In the absence of a HS diploma, GED or AA/AS degree, 8 years of relevant experience is required

  • OR A Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and less than 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Having experience in both RF and digital a plus

  • Must have their own basic set of hand tools for electronics

  • Can apply advanced skills and knowledge to solve tasks.

  • Adapts to new procedures, techniques, and tools quickly; is willing and able to share knowledge to promote a good learning environment.

  • Although frequently works autonomously, can work in a team environment with good oral and writing skills.
