The team
The Iowa Department of Transportation’s Highway Division is made up of more than 1,000 employees. These dedicated folks provide the support and services to maintain 114,000 lane miles of roadway with over 4,000 pieces of equipment located in more than 150 facilities statewide.
As a Highway Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll contribute to DOT’s mission by:
- Supervising 16 full-time staff and 14 seasonal staff
- Being responsible for all the associated highway maintenance facilities, equipment, supplies, and materials of the Urbana area
- Serving as the public’s first contact
- Working closely with law enforcement and other highway maintenance personnel
Shift
Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm.
Hours may vary, and position is subject to call for emergency conditions 24 hours a day, including nights, weekends and holidays.

b. A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in part a), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in business administration, construction technology/management, or engineering equals one year of full-time experience.
