Job Purpose
The HR Generalist focuses on payroll processing, coordinating benefits, reporting, onboarding and supporting employee activities and general company business. Reporting to and working closely with the Manager of Human Resources, this role takes full charge responsibility for supporting the day-to-day payroll functions for accuracy, timely payment of wages. The position further administers employee benefit programs and ensures government compliance with regulations and required taxes and filings.
This dynamic person provides excellent employee service, coordinates the annual open enrollment process, supports human resources activities, and handles the administrative tasks of the department. This service-oriented position requires an individual with a high level of self-awareness, integrity, ability to make sound decisions, energy, and an inherent enthusiasm for a positive employee experience.

Office 365, Human Resource Management System, Payroll Software
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, or equivalent from an accredited College or University and two years of related experience. Prior experience handling sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion
Familiarity with pressure situations and how to handle them in a professional business manner also required.
Accountabilities
Biweekly multi-state payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including time and attendance records that are consistent with Company policies
Employee and benefit information in the HRIS and personnel files
Reconciliation of payroll and benefit records, including provider billing statements
Employee benefit programs including health insurance, wellness program, short and long term disability, short and long term disability, flexible spending accounts, workers compensation, unemployment benefits

Comply with federal, state, and local level laws, and requirements in wage/hour laws and employee benefits in areas where the company has employees
Maintain current knowledge of all pertinent federal/state/local regulations affecting payroll and employee benefits programs (i.e. ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, worker’s compensation, Medicare, Social Security, DOL and IRS requirements)
Assist in the development, review, and update of all personnel and other relative manuals, including benefits guide

Generate mandated periodic filings and reports, and other ad hoc reports, as needed (i.e. W-2 forms, EEO, 1094-C, 5500, annual non-discrimination testing for benefits plans, monthly/quarterly/annual reports)
