This position is concerned primarily with the development, implementation and revision of manufacturing processes, procedures, and work instructions. Successful candidate must be effective in communicating and working with internal stakeholders including (but not limited to): quality assurance, assembly operators, shop floor leads, industrial engineers, design engineers, and production supervisors. Successful candidate also must be proficient in basic computer use, including (but not limited to): Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Web navigation and comfortable learning role-specific software (e.g. SAP, Compass, eView, Corel Draw). Experience with Compass and/or eView is highly desired. Working knowledge of the heritage Rockwell Collins QMS is desired, specifically: HRC-QMS-P-214, RC-QMS-I-905, HRC-QMS-P-904, HRC-QMS-P-615, HRC-OPS-I-035, HRC-OPS-P-065, HRC-OPS-P-017. Prior build and/or inspection experience is desired but not required. Due to the direct interaction with the production floor, candidate must be located on site.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains eView work instructions in a manner that provides production personnel with the ability to efficiently and effectively build high quality products

  • Creates and maintains the master route sequences and BOM data in compass

  • Capable of implementing Lean concepts with minimal guidance from a Lean Principal or Lean Master resource. Some examples being: generate time studies and establish takt time, define standard work, line balancing, improve workflow, 5S, participate in product transfers, etc.

  • Provides input to the training and mentoring plans. Teaches and mentors new and less experienced IE Technicians.

  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments. Assignments are often self-initiated.

  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency, prudent risk-taking and adaptive response to challenges.

  • Understands all job functions of other team members outside of the IE Technicians.

  • Works complex issues, independently without supervision.

  • Viewed as an expert in this function. A recognized leader amongst the IE Technicians.

  • Excellent understanding and ability to apply lean concepts in the manufacturing environment. Teaches and develops lean application knowledge of less experienced IE Technicians.

  • Works closely with engineering and cross functional teams to evaluate CO’s. Generate Run and Holds to incorporate into production.

  • Prepares and adds value to change control, run and hold and other production related systems

  • Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks.

  • Is computer savvy with strong communication skills and attention to detail

  • Participates in product transitions as needed

  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

  • Manufacturing experience
