Job Summary

A-Lert Construction Services is seeking a Millwright Craft Instructor at our Cedar Rapids, IA location. The Millwright Craft Instructor will be responsible for training students to become certified in the Millwright trade using NCCER curriculum. Duties include:

  • Following all NCCER and company policies related to training, testing and performance profiles
  • Instruct students using the NCCER curriculum
  • Maintaining training and testing documentation

Minimum Qualifications

A qualified individual must either:

  • Have at least 4 years’ journeyman level millwright experience OR
  • Have at least 3 years’ experience as a certified teacher in a vocational or technical millwright training program

As well as at least one of the following:

  • A diploma from a postsecondary institution in the millwright trade OR
  • A resume documenting actual millwright experience OR
  • A passing score on the relevant NCCER millwright craft assessment OR
  • A license granted by a state for the millwright craft OR
  • Certification by a state Department of Education related to the millwright trade

Other Requirements

  • Upon hire, successfully complete the Instructor Certification Program led by an NCCER Master Trainer and pass the required tests
  • Successfully pass pre-employment drug screen, physical exam, customer security check, E-Verify, motor vehicle record, and other assessments if applicable
