Waypoint Services provides child care to approximately 600 children ages 0 to 12 years old. Waypoint also provides shelter and support to women and children in crisis because of homelessness, domestic violence or sexual assault. For over 125 years, Waypoint has been meeting the changing needs of women and children in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and surrounding rural areas.

POSITION SUMMARY
- Supervises children, staff members, and activities in the program
- Uses positive guidance methods of discipline
- Handles parent questions, concerns, and complaints
- Provides a safe and healthy environment for students and staff
- Develops child behavior plans
- Build and support relationships with school principal and school staff
- Actively support Waypoint and School functions
- Prepare and Implement lesson plans using the 40 Assets Curriculum
- Provide and maintain a neat organized classroom; take responsibility for upkeep of all educational equipment and materials
- Eat all meals and snack with the children and assist in the development of good nutrition habits; ensure snack is out at the site in a timely matter
- Hold monthly classroom meetings
- Conduct parent conferences
- Assist with staff development, coaching, and disciplinaries
- Other duties assigned by the Multi-Site Director or Child Care Leadership team
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES
- Trains assistant teachers in the following areas: Program goals and objectives; job responsibilities; daily classroom routines; confidentiality of program
- Maintains on site child files, daily attendance records, CACFP paperwork, process weekly attendance paperwork, and child care assistance forms
- Contacts parents regarding child absences and attendance
- Ensures that site is in compliance with DHS guidelines, postings, and inspections
- Maintains QRS ratings; performs two SACERS self evaluations annually (fall and spring)
- Manages Parent Communications
- Parent Welcome Letter
- Monthly Newsletter
- Family Handbook
- Distributes child care receipts
- Distributes memos and other necessary paperwork
- Submit monthly supply orders to Multi-Site Director
- Conduct yearly job performance evaluations on assistant teachers in their program
- Assists Multi-Site Director with interviewing and hiring assistant teachers and substitutes
- Previous child care experience necessary
- Education in child development/education preferred
- Enthusiasm and great attitude a definite plus
- Candidate must be meet DHS On-Site Supervisor Qualifications within 30 days of employment
