Role Overview:
With direction and support from the Records & Information Management Manager, Records Specialists oversee Company records from creation and preservation through to disposal. A Records & Information Management Specialist is responsible for accurately, securely, and effectively managing information received and produced by a wide range organizations company-wide. Records & Information Specialists will support the emerging Records & Information Management (RIM) Team and RIM Council, as we drive to expand a common methodology for Records & Information Management to all of Collins Aerospace.
Candidate should possess knowledge of industry practices and standards, as well as communication and influencing skills, especially when requiring colleagues to hand over records or to use the systems accurately. An effective candidate must be: analytical, patient, meticulous, organized, capable of prioritizing, and a dedicated problem-solver. Candidates need to be comfortable communicating with all levels of staff across all parts of the Company and with providing “virtual instruction” in tools and process approaches to simplify user onboarding and issue resolution. This position is for an Experienced Legal Compliance professional. Acts as resource for employees seeking to guidance on compliance issues. Handles documentation, report preparation, and analysis of compliance programs to ensure effectiveness.Works to improve employee communications on compliance programs to enhance understanding and program performance.
Primary Responsibilities:

Dealing with inquiries and requests for information from both internal and external clients.
-
Assistance and support to those identifying, classifying, and indexing records.
-
Providing training to users who require access or have responsibility for maintaining records.
-
Ensuring records are easily accessible when needed.
-
Ensuring records’ compliance with regulatory, financial, legal, or process requirements.

Coordinating records destruction at applicable retention life-cycle end.

Maintaining, verifying, and evaluating records systems.

Integrating and reconciling data from many sources and consolidating ‘like’ record information entries.

Communicating and enforcing policy and procedure requirements with all levels of staff across all parts of the Company.
Basic Qualifications:
-
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience.In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.

Willingness to travel (estimated at 25% of time) during integration activities.

Dynamic follower: proactive, able to operate independently, and to think critically for the common good and unified corporate RIM goals established by Leadership.

Excellent computer skills. Experienced and confident with database utilization, software, and operating systems. Proficient in MS Office Suite.

US Citizenship or Permanent Resident.
