Position Overview

Collins Aerospace is currently seeking qualified candidates for entry-level Co-ops in our Military Avionics & Helicopters Flight Management & Controls department located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Teams are composed of cross-functional engineers working in an AGILE environment (approximately 6-10 people) focused on the design and development of software-only products. Products supported with this role include:

CAAS/Flight 2 Flight Management Solutions – Our signature products for Military Avionics and Helicopters as part of the Collins Integrated Avionics Systems, fielded on thousands of aircraft today, at this moment. Specific capabilities include FMS (Flight Management Systems), Flight Director, and Flight Controls. Here’s a couple links to more details:

FACE (Future Airborne Capability Environment) – Our software as a product used to support not only navigation, flight planning, and guidance with our MFMS-1000 solution, but also hazard avoidance in real time as part of our Avoidance Re-Router (ARR-7000), which are being deployed on a variety of emerging platforms and next generation pursuits. Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
