Role Overview:
The Mission Systems Capture Center seeks a Proposal Manager to be a key member of our Pursuit and Order Capture (P/OC) efforts. The Proposal Manager will work closely with Capture Teams and facilitate the development and production of Collins Aerospace’s responses to customer’s request for information, request for proposals and other customer requested responses in support of our pursuit of new opportunities. This individual will also work closely with members of the Capture Center in addition to the Capture Team members. The Proposal Manager must have good team building skills, good communication skills, written and oral, as well as understanding of the proposal development process. Background in the Shipley proposal process is strongly desired. The Capture Center is composed of capture managers, proposal managers, and graphic designers; together this organization is responsible for flawlessly leading teams through the P/OC process to win more business.
Experience:
Thorough understanding of the business development lifecycle and hands-on experience working within the proposal planning, development, and post submission phases
Proven skills in technical and persuasive writing, editing, and publishing proposal content within a complex business environment
Results-driven leader with a record of motivating and energizing teams to successfully accomplish organizational goals
Thorough understanding of proposal development process
Position Responsibilities:
Facilitate team assignments to align with proposal schedule, including proposal development as well as reviews (White, Pink, Red and Gold Team reviews) ensuring requests are appropriately supported; job skills that exhibit an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines
Lead the proposal process with tasks, but not limited to, efforts such as:
Creation and review of proposal outline to ensure compliance and responsiveness
Scheduling and running proposal kick-off meetings, leading story-boarding sessions, workshops and key review meetings
Coach content owners / subject matter experts in persuasive writing and proposal best practices focusing on compliance, responsiveness, flow and messaging
Final document review, document production, and delivery of completed proposal
Coordinate and update proposal content libraries
Ensure delivery of compliant, professionally produced proposals within customer defined time frames and serves as an escalation point for issues impacting success
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline, preferably technical, or in the absence of a degree six years of related experience.
Minimal travel to support pursuit efforts in various locations is required
Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required
Knowledge of government proposals and contracting is desired
