Friends of India Association of Cedar Rapids
Friends of India Association of Cedar Rapids (FOICR) was established on June 12, 1994 by a group of concerned people of Indian origin. It was created in order to cherish our Indian heritage as well as to sustain and share our unique cultural identity. By the way of this forum people can get together, exchange views and participate in various activities of the association. The objectives are as follows:
- Provide a forum for members to meet and exchange views and to provide them with the opportunity to cooperate, participate and take leadership in all activities of the association
- Organize cultural entertainment and educational programs for the benefit of the membership and the community
- Be a representative voice to the local mass media on matters relating to the Indian community
- Serve as a platform for fundraising for humanitarian causes, such as aid for victims of natural disasters
- Cooperate with other organizations in programs of common interest
- Support any activity heretofore unlisted, but deemed appropriate by the members of the association.

Asian Pacific American Cultural Center
The Asian Pacific American Cultural Center (APACC) was established in 2003 to serve as a center for Asian American and Pacific Islanders at The University of Iowa to have a space to interact with other students and to enhance their educational experience at The University of Iowa. The APACC provides a supportive and inclusive environment while providing programs that empower students, faculty, staff and community members to excel in their endeavors, stretch themselves to experience diversity, engage in activism, make positive choices, and serve their community.

Korean Cultural Connection is a non-profit organization serving the Des Moines community. We began as the Korean Language School in 1997 which eventually evolved into the Korean Cultural Connection, officially obtaining its non-profit status in February of 2000 and formal 501c3 certification in October of 2016. Through its members and volunteers, we have offered an opportunity to enjoy the Korean culture at local events. An annual Lunar New Year celebration is an event where participants can learn about the traditions and cuisine of the new year, as well as enjoy calligraphy, crafts, and games. We have also helped to represent Korea at the Asian Heritage Festival each spring. We hope you will take a look at our website and join us for an upcoming event!
The Nepalese Student Association at the UI is an officially-registered, non-profit student organization. It brings people interested in Nepalese community together by organizing cultural program and participating in various community events across Iowa City-Cedar Rapids.

Eddie Tsang, Culture All
Eddie Tsang was born in China and moved to Hong Kong when he was 11 years old. There he finished college and came to America, where he earned his Master’s degree at Indiana University. Now retired from teaching in the Cedar Rapids school district, Mr. Tsang conducts workshops and presentations about various aspects of Chinese culture. Mr. Tsang no longer lives in Iowa but makes special trips back to provide unique learning experiences through workshops.
Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Heritage Month
Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Heritage Month is celebrated nationally during the month of May to commemorate the first immigrants who came from Japan on May 7, 1843. This month is celebrated in April at the University of Iowa and pays tribute to the contributions generations of Asian and Pacific Islanders have made to American history, society, and culture.
NewBo City Market
NewBo City Market is a dynamic public space promoting health, happiness, and well-being in the heart of the New Bohemia District near downtown Cedar Rapids. As a gathering place, business incubator, and event center, NewBo City Market services many different needs for a wide spectrum of people and organizations. The market often features global foods including Chinese, Japanese, and Indian options.
AsianFest
AsianFest is a FREE, annual festival held in Cedar Rapids for families to come and experience the flair, fusion and flavor of Asian cultures. The event rich performances, delicious cuisine, exotic cultures to concerts showcasing and celebrating the diversity that continues to be part of the Midwest fabric.
Corridor Cricket League
The Corridor Cricket League is a Leather Ball Cricket League in Eastern Iowa. The league began in June of 2017 and has players from Iowa City-Cedar Rapids.
